As my Chihuahua sleeps next to me on the bed, I love your Lanturne. It is emotional as I think about the bond between people and dogs. You are right. It is special.

I do wonder if you meant to write "They're love" instead of "They love."

Dogs are truly man's best friend. They love unconditionally and with loyalty as your poem elegantly indicates. Also, as your poem indicates, they make us feel safe, and the dogs feel safe with us.

NIce! Shining a lantern on dog lovers and their best friends. I like the way you use 'safe' in the last line, suggesting a mutual safety. There is that provided by the owner and, occasionally, that provided by the dog as well!
