I enjoyed reading your lanterne "Right by My Side" - An ode to my puppies. You chose a beautiful photo and all your lines and syllables were correct.
Best of luck.

I love this. It is so true and describes the devotion between humans and pets. Loyalty is a major component to a dog's personality. They stay with you no matter what. I also like how you use the safe line. It's a mutual safety that both rely on. Nice job, Patty.

Good poem. I love that lantern shape. I love dogs but have a cat. They are loyal, too, but to a certain extent.
I'm wondering what you meant by 'safe'. I have my own meaning--dogs are safer than people?
Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. My dogs make me feel safe - they cuddle, they bark. They would give their lives to protect me.

MustangP,
Very short and sweet. You did a nice job with this style. The words were well chosen. The theme is very nice. The flow is smooth. Your arrangement looks very nice.
Very enchanted atmosphere, non-judgmental, thought provoking and very enjoyable.
There was no SPAG. No typos. No homophones. No problems at all.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

I like this form, I am going to try one. I love your theme, as a dog owner all my life, I can relate to your words. Dogs do make me feel safe like your last line states. I am always happy to read a poem about dogs, this is a treat.

Thank you for stopping by to read and review. This was my first try at a lanturne, and it was only fitting to write about my furry friends, Howie and Bernie.

Hello, my friend,
This is a cute poem and I think you have a good chace at winning the contest. I read quite a few and this one is one of the better ones. Good luck, sweetie pie.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Unfortunately, I thought the contest was already closed, so I did not enter the piece. I also felt that since it was for the first one I wrote, I wouldn't have a chance. The reviews have been very positive, and I'm going to stop doubting myself. Coincidentally, that's what keeping me from entering haikus to the books,

Hi, Patty, and this is a delight. Dogs must have their day and deserve a poem. Your syllable count is perfect for the lantern, and it looks like it's supposed to. You capture the image of dogs. They are loyal and loving. It's unconditional, too. With my cats, they're loyalty depends on what I'm doing for them. Best of luck in the contest. judi

Thank you so much for your lovely review. This was my first lanturne, and I'm glad it has gotten positive reviews, but I didn't enter it into the contest. Partly because I thought the contest had already closed, and partly since it was my first try, I thought I wouldn't have a chance,

Four-legged barkers do indeed make the most loyal of friends.
Poem well written and depicts the purpose of dogs precisely.
