I hate it when one of my friends say to me something like, C'mon, Dean, They're just dogs!", in reference to my three canine companions. Only in your case, it would be, "Get over it, RJ. He was just a cat for cryin' out loud!"
What people like them fail to realize is that our cats, dogs, parakeets, tarantulas...whatever we choose as a pet...become as much a part of our daily lives as a cherished family member might be.
Well... maybe not tarantulas, but I adore spiders, so...

I'm truly sorrowed to learn of your loss, RJ.
My heart goes out to you.

Hi Rebecca, I see you have lost a good friend. You say he was twelve when you got him, so he sounds to have had a long life. Pets become part of the family and more of a friend than most humans. With a consistency for love that is unmatched'

Recently my son lost Sam the family cat at aged 22. We lost our Jess, a cocker spaniel, last June. So we know what you are going through and you have my sympathies...

Pets are probably the most loving and giving beings we will ever know. They share their lives, and their love, without much notice. I've rescued cats, and a dog or two. It seems that the cats were the most grateful. Cuddled close to me each night, it seemed that they wanted to stay close. Thank you for sharing your story with us,

Thank you for your review. He would remind me when it was bed time, lead me to the bedroom, waited on the for me to get in bed and then cuddle next to me. Each night the same. Do miss him. RJ

Excellent. This is a lovely story of bonding with an animal. I'm a cat lover, so I can understand your feelings. A small error, you wrote move (one) it should be (on). I wish you the best in the contest.

Awwww, this brought tears to my eyes. You only had him for such a short time yet you bonded so strongly. I know what you're saying. I've had cats all my life so I know how you feel. They are special. I'm glad you had this time with him. Kind regards. Ulla:)))

I certainly hope I reunite with my pets in heaven. I miss them. This is a great little essay spoken from your heart to a rescue cat you loved before he passed away. Your words are told like a thank you letter or a Valentine to your cat. Yes, only when our pets are gone do we realize how much we miss them.

Thank you for sharing your remembrance. I wish you success in the contest.
