A lovely description of love and life as it is. That love is awesome and it is what our lives revolve around. A great poem. Thank you for sharing your love. Susan

Thank you for stopping by to read and review. I so treasure our time together these days. Up until about 8 months ago, Dave was an over-the-road trucker for a few years, and we only saw one another a few days a month. We are very lucky to have so much history, and so much love,

A very handsome couple. I hear you, I'm way heavier than 17 years ago and my husband is way more silver. That is sweet to think so much about your husband of such a long marriage and miss him when he goes to work and write about it.

This is a very simple poem about the simple things a married couple does in a day and how much being apart, even during work hours. is sometimes lonely. Iike the feeling of warmth garnered in the love and in the hug.

Keep writing

You're welcome. I'm glad you can see each other again. My brother in law is a retired trucker too.

Hi Patty, what a lovely poem you've shared about your devotion to your Hubby. The verse is full of warm and loving emotion from start to finish. Each stanza adds to the story's strength and charm. Thank you for sharing and your author's notes about the picture of you both. It's a great photo... Hope you shared the poem with your Hubby on his return from work. cheers and smiles mel xx

This is a nice poem that helps remind us all of that loved one who, through the day in and day out, goes into the world and, thankfully, returns to us again. My wife and I cherish our time together. Happy day.

Excellent, reminds me of my husband and I. The day to day routine goes on, but the end of your poem reminds me of how much we are appreciated.

This is an excellent free verse poem for your hubby. I love how you talk about four day from sun up to sunset, from parting to your twelve long hours of "Reading, writing, and court shows," before you unite again:

"The dogs bark a welcome,
I give him a hug
I've been lonesome,
But for now, I'm snug
In his arms for the night,
My heart takes flight"

Thank you for sharing your great free verse poem for your hubby.

Ah, this poem is so endearing. You take the reader from dawn to dusk with your husband. who seems to be a terrific man. You are quite blessed.

I wish my day could be reading, writing, and court shows. I spend my weekdays reading, writing and viewing court documents given I work in the legal field.

Thank you of sharing your heartfelt sentiments.

I plan to do the same when I retire. I can not wait to have more available time to write. For now, I have to steal a minute or two from my day to write. :)
