This is one of my favorites, so far. Back when I was working on a split masters, I did a long piece on Robert Frost. I sent it to him as a Christmas gift. He sent me back: some early notes which ended up in Amherst College Library's "Notes by Robert Frost on his life and early writings"
They sent me a copy which I wish you could see!
So, this particular Haiku
Is wonderful and special to me!!!

Echos of a soul. You got me on that one. That is what we all hope happens to us in the future, that people read our works and understand themselves and others better. I couldn't resist giving you another six because when ever a writing make me cry I have to. Now quit taking all my sixes. Judy

Hi Dean,
This is a wonderful tribute to Robert Frost. (Are you saying he was long-winded? lol) He's one of my absolute favorites. I loved your expert use of W alliteration and consonance of S. Every word you used was the perfect choice.
You found a fantastic picture for illustration. Bravo!
Thank you for sharing!

"frosty branches whine" - I like this first line, the sound the trees make when they are cold and covered in snow and ice.
"whist sparse branches whisper" - the whistling sound of the wind through the branches brings back many memories
"echoes of a soul" - trees are old souls, and the sounds they make no matter the season are wonderful
Very nice haiku

Oooooo, great line. "Sparse branches whisper."
You're quite good at the haiku form as you are with everything you write.
Frost and Robert Service are my favorite poets. I don't many people who read Services works.

Hello, rd. I hope all is well with you.
Robert frost is probably my favorite poet, besides old EA Poe, of course.
He was quite a character too.
Thank you very much for the in-depth breakdown and stellar review of my haiku
As always, I deeply appreciate your time and positive comments.
Best wishes, and have a wonderful week.

Whew! Your post made it in time to receive my last six star review of the week.
This is a great haiku and tribute to Robert Frost. Effective W alliteration and winter kigo. A compelling contrast between whining wind and whispering branches. Between the two we hear the echoes of Frost's soul.
A brilliant submission to the Haiku Club Challenge Book. Thank you for sharing your haiku and honoring this notable poet.
I promoted our renga to the top ten. I have not read the reviews yet except yours as I am writing reviews to promote it higher. It's hard work, but worth it. Thanks again.
