Hi friend ,this is such a tender write with beautiful thoughts, all wrapped up in sweet hoping. The broken fence is massively magic imagery.

Victor: so simply said but flooded my head with all the atrocities I've heard of, seen pictures of or read about. A powerful poem with a powerful picture. Very well done; metaphor works well. Linda

A very well-written poem. We can walk through the broken fences we try to keep others out from our space. Only He can. Heal us when we fall apart.

I wish I completely agreed with you, but I remain one of those on the fence post. LOL

There is such a sad message behind these words, a yearning to be together and to conquer the obstacles that blight us. A joy to read, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. It is interesting to me how or what people pick up on in poetry. Your interpretation is one of several that I tried to incorporate. Amazing.

The broken fence could be a metaphor for so many things. Your poem has given this reader a great deal to ponder. Your words flow well through this, and the story told within is intriguing. Thank you for sharing,

Poem reminded me of the wish or dreams of people to sail over the barbed wire fences of prisons or concentration camps. I love the simplicity of your short lines, their elegance, and their wistful playfulness and longing:
"Just sail me-
over here and over there
over blue
and deep green dark
and then with sea
and laughter start"
I feel the yearning of the captive who want freedom.
Thank you for sharing.

Comment from Dean Kuch
In many instances, the various persecuted people who were detained in Nazi Death Camps such as Auschwitz, Buchenwald Dachau, Sobibor, and Treblinka, just to name a few, had no hope to escape their torment save through their dreams.
The Holocaust is the blackest blight on the history of humanity.
Well done, Victor.
Lest we forget...

This work at times seems to be difficult grammatically speaking, so it was a good idea to render it in couplets that infer different though related thoughts.

I've missed your work for a while and was pleased to see this poem pop up on the home page today. I felt I was sailing away with you in this free verse. The picture seems to be of a concentration camp, which adds another dimension to this piece. Sighs- Joan
