No worries mate. I love your poetry. I plan to get some of my other stuff up after I finish this revival of my biography. Some of the chapters were done less than 2 years ago hence different certificates needed to re-promote. Cheers. I turned 66 on March 27th sound like we are around similar age.

Thanks. He is having the time of his life on the Gold Coast. This has been his dream since he was a little boy.
Wish we could come visit but it's a long, long way from North Carolina to Australia. :)))

Your appreciation of this person of whom you've written is clearly evident and shines through your wording in this delightful poem.
I do have one minor suggestion to offer you, however, and it comes in the stanza below:
a gift he made not to be torn
the day it was that you were born

and sight of you erased his frown ...I was always taught to capitalize any reference to the Almighty when writing.
You know, out of respect for our Creator?
Other than that, I found this to be exceptional and inspirational as well.
