This is a very interesting Free Verse poem you have penned. You used very good descriptive wording and the strange looking characters in the picture were interesting. Best wishes in the contest! Teri

Wait, What?
First off, the cast of characters in the photo are damned scary. If I ever saw them coming my way I would run for the hills as fast as I could go. Secondly, I do not think that I would be very entertained by a crew that looked anything remotely similar to this group. I do not discriminate against anyone and I am a firm believer in whatever floats your boat, but on this one I choose to opt out.

Hey, Bill.
There's some frightening imagery going on here.
Lots of great lines to ponder as well.
My favorite was the following:

"Splintering into songs we sang."
---Loved the melody of "s" sounds. Outstanding!
Food for thought, I should think.
A very evocative free verse entry, my friend.
Best of luck in the contest with this...

Dear Bill, loved your imagery in this one. So many were my favourites. "Splintering into songs we sang", "a life flapping in my face". Both made me pause on the second reading, just to let it sink in a bit more.
An excellent and thoughtful free verse my friend.
Thanks for sharing and good luck.
