This is a very fine haiku of an easily observed moment
with succinct wording and 4-7-3 syllables
Excellent concrete imagery in the robins/morning
with solid grammatical connection
and a fine satori line
Nice colors with the green lawn
Well done

Oh, this is wonderful! I have a huge grin on my face. All the elements of outstanding haiku are present - kigo=Spring implied, kire=perfectly connecting to two concrete images, satori=a splendid moment, and immediate (present tense) scene I picture as 'observer'...

How nice it would be to start the day with friends and a lawn party. The poem is effective in meeting the haiku requires of line, syllables, and topic. It's very effective in evoking imagery and emotion from the reader.

A wonderful image of spring, Karyn. After a few bitter cold days, this is just what the doctor ordered. I love seeing the first robins come back, with voracious appetites for slumbering worms. They are committed to new life. And I love your final line to reflect on the first two, "lawn party". I can easily see these red-vested gentlemen hopping about a greening lawn.
Nicely penned, in 4-7-3 form! Thanks for sharing. A good haiku doesn't need pictures. The pics form in your mind.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Seeing my first robin is the sure sign of spring for me. I love watching them dig around in the grass, and I especially love their bird songs. Comment from Rhonni
Ahh, this means spring in ever so near when we begin to see the robin. I have seen them already here in Nebraska...it's enchanting to see them spring up and begin building their nests then to see and hear their speckled babies. This is a very sweet haiku and I love the last line, "lawn party"...nice job

Robins...........one of my favourite birds and we used to see so many when I lived in England. But on trips back, they are dwindling. Your haiku is a lovely image. I really enjoyed the line, 'lawn party'. Thank you for sharing this. Susan

Ha, you are certainly living up to your nickname, Sassy! Anyone reading this will see those hungry birds on their lawns right after a rain, pulling and stretching those big, juicy worms, trying to get them out of the ground in one piece!
Delightful!

Irish! Thank you so much for your awesome review, generous rating, and always encouraging comments. I'm pleased you enjoyed my spring haiku. I get so excited the first time I see a robin...it's the definitive arrival of spring to me, and I love their song. Hope you're doing well, and spring will soon surround you with color, birdsongs, and warmth from the sun. Thanks for the stars, Irish.
Smiles,
Sassy :-)
