Your poem is well written. You expressed yourself well. I am sorry for the distress you feel & the fact that your son is on drugs. I can imagine how difficult it is for you.
Your poem is well rhymed & flows smoothly.
Good job & thanks for sharing. Jan

Thanks for bringing light to the extent this addiction has taken on our youth. In the Bible, we read of demon possession but today, it seems the devil uses drugs instead. May the Lord free your son from this addiction and restore him fully. Thanks for sharing this personal story.

Thank you again, for reading my work. This poem was a true labor of love. It is hard to share so much - I feel a great deal of pain and shame about this subject. I feel like I somehow let my son down.

Please don't blame yourself. This is so very prevalent and there is no common cause.

Thank you for your courage to not be an enabler and to share this poem. I hope your son can turn the corner on addiction and return home to his loving mother. I admired your rhymed quatrains and reinforcing artwork selection. My very best wishes for his recovery- Joan

I am so sorry, Patty, when we see our children in trouble the first thing we want to do is help them. But you have to do it in the reverse. I pray he beats his addiction and comes home again for his sake as well as yours. xx Sandra xx

A very well-written poem/prayer. It is heartbreaking when our happy and joyful children fall victim to the temptations of the world and become a slave of all these things that ruin their lives.

This a short but powerful work Patty. It is almost impossible to stand by and watch, but then again there is little choice.
I pray that Gregory will someday manage to climb out this horrible place and be with you again
hugs

I'm so sorry! Prayer is the best thing you can do for him. He has to want to get free from this and if he truly does, take the steps necessary. The sorrow and heartbreak comes through well in the poem. It's hard to turn away our flesh and blood, but there must be consequences for his actions. Hopefully, this bold love will bring him back to you and to the Lord.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. This has probably been one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with in my life. I appreciate your words, and know I will continue to pray - hoping for the day he turns back to God.

You're welcome. I know it has to be heartbreaking for you. It's hard when we want someone to change and we can see the damage they are doing to themselves. I've had to tell myself this many times - only God can change hearts. Keep praying!

Oh God love you Barb, I am so sorry. It is such a heartbreak to see our young people throw their lives away on drugs or alcohol. Tough love is hard to do, but necessary. Otherwise you are just an enabler. You are right, the only help available is prayer. God Bless you both and keep him safe until he can see the light. Nancy

Thank you so much for your kind words. I knew if I brought my plight to my Fanstory family, I would feel the support I so desperately need. My daughter, husband and I, are holding one another to not enable him. Some days are harder than others.

Good luck with that. I hope it all works out for you.
