Patty, I absolutely loved this poem. I found it to be
quit emotional, your words flowed like tears of sadness.
Extremely well done.......

This poem tells a deep and disturbing tale. I see it as a husband/wife who has succumbed to the demon drink, but it could apply equally to any loved one.
Sadly we lost our brother Paul to this disease seven years ago.

Well, isn't this a sad story. Of course I don't know if it is fiction or non-fiction. I hope fiction and I hope it's not your significant other. It is very well penned. Thank you for sharing

Thank you, as always, for reading and reviewing. No, this little poem is pure fiction. I wrote while I was watching a movie. Thank goodness, this isn't my life.

Deeper "than deep!" The words were germinated in the heart, sprouted through the soul and then grew tall for us all to read. I'm wondering if this is a personal biography of the author. Beautiful Art Work by Kathy Schipper. Thank you, Patty for this awesome write. May God bless you with, "Good health and happiness always."
Respectfully,
Bill

Hi Bill; the poem was poor fiction, based on a movie I was watching. I'm so glad you enjoyed it AND I thank you for the 6 stars.

Patty,
Sounds like this man (I'm assuming) chose to drink with his friends over spending time with you. Then, through the breech or his death, you've lost him now. Not quite clear, but this is my take. Thanks!

Yes, you understood the point of the poem. Pure fiction - every man who drank was one I ran away from!
Thanks for reading and reviewing,
