Hi patty, I smiled at your poem he's so lovable.( We have a King Charles cavalier spaniel) I enjoyed his description voiced in good rhyme. Dogs seem to be subject hits, they give unconditional love. What kind of pup is he, and what's his name? Thanks for sharing .

Hi; Bernie is part Yorkshire Terrier and part Maltese. He weighs about 11 pounds and is my constant companion. While my other dog, Howie - part Maltese and part Pekingnese sleeps on the bed, Bernie stays on the couch with me - and when I go to bed, he follows. He really is special.

    Thanks for reading,

Ah, what do you mean his face isn't much to look at. It is precious. All dogs are precious. I have two also. They do the same thing. Jump in my lap when I'm working, sleep between my legs or at my side. Go nuts when we come home. I wouldn't know what to do without them either. great poem. Thanks for sharing
hugs Heidi

Ours do too. They are always together. It is so cute. I love when they chase eachother with a toy. Cute.

What a sweet little poem. Although I am a cat person, I do realize how devoted dogs are to their humans. I'm glad you have this companion since Hubby works long hours.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. Bernie IS one of the best companions I've ever had. I was a cat person for a long time - I still miss having a cat, but Bernie has too much terrier in him to tolerate a new kitten! Thanks for stopping by!

What would I do without him?
I truly do not know.
He isn't much to look at,
But his face just makes my day.

These last four lines.
I have a suggestion that will finish your poem better, With respect.)))
What would I do without him?
I really couldn't say.
He isn't much to look at,
but his face just makes my day...
Just a suggestion. Nancy

There is a special bond between a dog
and its owner, they bring joy and smiles.
"He isn't much to look at,
But his face just makes my day."
That says it very well.
A very good poem that is nicely rhymed with
Excellent art work to match
Well done

Thank you for reading and reviewing. Bernie is a very special little dog. He is all mutt and just a tad over 11 pounds. He is big enough to keep my feet warm, but not so big to be in the way.

I appreciate your kind words - thanks for dropping by,

I loved my dog. When he was still with me I felt the way as you've written about Bernie. Such a cute name for a very wonderful love. Dusty

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I'm sorry for your loss - losing a pet is a pain that cuts deep. I appreciate your kind words, and will pass them along to my little buddy, Bernie.

Thank you....It been a year. He had trouble with his wind pipe and didn't make it to four years old. One good was he had all of my attention and love everyday he was alive. He wasn't too bad until the last month. He always wanted to play rough with his ball and chase it until he was out of breath. See him in the picture? I miss him still.

Excellent. You have written a lovely tribute to your friend, Bernie. It is something the way animals can grab our hearts and run away with them. If only they had longer life spans so we didn't always wind up parting from them.
