Hello! What a wonderful thing to be able to say that you have been free of cancer for twenty years. Your rhyming verse was very good and led the reader easily through your meaningful poem. Well done.

Good for you! Your words were inspiring, but what packed a punch for me was the last line, Your spirit is cancer free. That fighting spirit makes all the difference. Thank you for sharing these uplifting sentiments.

Thank you for sharing your story in the beautiful and heartfelt poem. Cancer just claimed a neighbor and friend. It is an insidious disease but I am happy that you're still here.
Well done.
Blessings

We all know what's waiting...but can we get in a few good laughs and hot meals and hearty handshakes before the lights go out? Maybe even a smooth BM or two and write a poem....excellent post!

This is a lovely, moving poem about strength and faith in the face of cancer.
Personifying cancer by addressing it directly is very effective. The last line is especially powerful.

You are a tough ole bird and the Lord is in no Way through with you. So sad you lost Your wife at such an early age. Take care my friend and stay well we need you here.

This is a very thought provoking poem. You sure have been through the mill and my heart goes out to you. I love your down to earth and well rhymed poetry. Take care. Jen.

I like the message of this Jaybird. It sounds like you've overcome so much by the grace of God. I'm sorry for your loss even though it's been quite a while. I appreciate you sharing your testimony of overcoming and still being here. Well done!

I love people who refuse to allow life get the better of them. You sound like such a character. Sounds like life has belted you hard, but you kicked back. People like you are an inspiration. And you write good poetry too.

Bravo, Jay! I am so glad for you, my friend. One would never be able to tell of your loss and threat to yourself by the way you carry yourself and write your great poems. All goes to show, we never know who we are talking to or what they have endured. Bless you, my friend. I Love the poem. Bob
