True friends are worth their weight in gold, and should never be taken for granted. This is a wonderful poem, Jaybird, and full heartfelt thanks for the trusted friends in your life. They, who gave you all the lovely memories you can now call on. I love the first line where you walk through your hall of memories, what a wonderful way to put it. I see from your profile, you are in your 90s, you must have a very long hall, my friend, and many wonderful memories. I really enjoyed your poem and wish you continued years creating more happy memories. :)) Sandra xx

A true tried and tested friend is worth their weight in gold for they are a treasure that money could never buy/ Loyal, honest, caring and protective are just a few of the qualities they bring to the table. Excellent write Jaybird !

This sonnet gives truth about true friendship and how precious a gift it can be. I especially liked the ending couplet. I also liked the line "Instill in them a sense of sharing trust." Trust is everything!

The author's words are strong, clear and thought provoking.
I enjoyed the read of this poem. I really liked the last line.
It was so true and meaningful. The poem flows and connects
well. It also sends a great message about friends. Thank you.....

An exceptional sonnet about friendship. It is always nice to see others to feel the need to write about these bonds that help us throughout our lives. I especially like this line:
"True friendship is a given, never bought."

My wife still holds to the friends she acquired in her.youth. And in later years she still holds to the friend and colleagues of her working life, though retired she still lunches with them monthly. A beautifully written sonnet, worthy of the plaudits given it, well done, blessings, Roy

This is so true. One true friend is worth a million that are only there for their own selfish reasons. I love the way you brought my own memories out to be gone through.

Food for thought indeed, Jay. thank you for shading this in your classic style:
"To face life's problems one most surely must
hold true the friends acquired along the way."
"Care for the friends, along the way you sought-
True friendship is a given, never bought."
Bless you, Jay. Bob
