Well Mr. Darren, this is a clear accounting of a man's ability to grow and learn from life's experiences. I'm so glad to read your story of conquering your anger problem. Your letter tells the story well and the ending was clever and amusing too. Your honesty is sometimes startling, but always beautiful to see. I love it! Below are the only two issues I found... nothing serious, but something you might want to fix.
*** I am very proud of myself, because I had enough sobriety under my belt, I was exposed to meth MORE THAN ONCE during my stay at the river, but I never gave in, remembering how horrible my other two relapses had been, and just thoroughly enjoying a clear state of my (mind?) for the first time in many years.
*** h, (?) there is a God, and he touches even the hardest of hearts. (It seems like something was inadvertently omitted in the beginning of this sentence, since it starts with a small 'h' and not a word.)

A well-written piece. For future reference plain old borax, twenty mule team brand borax powder. Usually found in the laundry soaps , sprinkled over the mattress covered with sheet should keep the creatures away. Used in different ways keeps lots of creepy crawlies away.

A remarkable account of part of your past and I remember this, having lived through it. You have indeed come a long way toward controlling your anger, your urges, and your habits. I know you have fought a great battle and have now reached a point of improvement where you are close to being independent.
I hope that in your future discourses you do not fail to mention all of the people who aided, assisted and mentored you while you were going through your metamorphosis, with emotional, physical and monetary aid, and have never asked for thanks, remuneration, or any recognition.
Where would you be now, if not for them?
Think about it.

If you did not ask for anything in return, then it seems contradictory to mention it AFTER THE FACT, think about it . . . .

If you will notice, in this narrative I did mention that I was raised with old school values. Although I did not mention names, I should hope that this is an acknowledgement of something?
Think about it, and let me know how you feel after reading chapters one and two, and "The Christmas Card / Dear Reader.

Wow what a story SLEEP TIGHT AND DON'T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE is an old saying I remember for some reason I have thankfully never experienced a bedbug bite but I have seen them under a microscope and they look prehistoric Thanks for sharing your story Badge

Wow very well written and I see no corrections to ever be made. Heartfelt and truthful all the way through. Can you laugh at the situation now?
