Hi Debbie,
I love to fish so this one struck me as the perfect haiku. Your syllable count is excellent and your word choices flourish with the flash of rainbow color on the scales of the fish. :)
Great job!

I think that was a very cunning idea - using the rainbow trout for a rainy afternoon - stringing Trout - Great Job - do not really understand the Haiku yet, but this one seems to make some sense to me - Sarah

Haiku are a difficult form to understand. Keep reading them and you should catch on. I appreciate the 6, my friend~Debbie

Wow! This is beautiful... I can just see that fisherman and his fly fishing rod flashing back and forth over the water...as rain sprinkles down. Your satori line is perfect :))

This is an excellent haiku, I love it.
The first two lines connect beautifully to create a concrete image in my mind. Very vivid too!
"fisherman's rainbow" - an excellent satori! Nothing makes the fisherman happen than a whole string of trout, just ask my brother, lol
Nicely done!

Ah ha, Debbie! Talk about a true haiku 'ah-ha' moment, your satori is brilliantly witty, LOL. It's also very insightful as well.
Your haiku as a whole is wonderfully well done.
Just as I envision haiku poetry could be and should be, but all too often isn't.
Bravo...

I have to admit, this would certainly be MY way to spend a rainy afternoon - I LOVE fishing, and of any freshwater fish, the rainbow trout is most certainly a delicious choice. Yep, hard to let THOSE babies go...
What a great haiku! You just made my mood for the night!

I miss being able to get out and around water. We used to fish when my son was young. Thank you, my friend~Debbie

I miss it too, Deb - city living, although there IS fishing fairly close I'm told, in the river, and of course, there's Lake Ontario itself. I must try it sometime, but it means taking transit with gear, or else walking a LONG way, which I am just not up to anymore.

Clever image and play on words. Love the idea of catching and carrying a rainbow, no matter what the form. The mention of rain makes it perfect.

What a clever poem and I am in awe of the colours of some fish particularly the one you feature here front row centre.
There is something about the rainbow spectrum that is quite magical and when a fishes scales sparkle in the sunlight this magic happens. Your poem incorporates not only the thrill of the catch, but the colours adorned. Some great fish fashion! LOL
Cheers P
