This haiku, Colorful Friend, has a five- seven-five setup and moves us from the reality of fish to the mythology of the sea in seventeen syllable. Nice.

I enjoyed the simple imagery of the second line and the fact that you refereed to the fish as mermaids. As someone who is not to crazy about haiku's I did like this one.

It's nice to imagine friendship with the fish. There are so many varieties of them. Some are really colorful. I wonder if the tails belong to the mermaids and the fins to the fish?

This was a delightful thought. It showed the freedom of the fishes as they swim around in the ocean and it reinforced the belief of mermaids. Great job, rather enjoyable, thanks.

What a lovely haiku! I only wish that mermaids were real - LOL! Your imagery is wonderful, even if one of those two concrete images grammatically connected isn't real - LOL. Your satori, too, leaves me with such a feeling of warmth - beautiful!
