A well-written haiku challenge poem. The subject of fish is a hard one for me to come up with what I want to say. You have done very well with the subject. Well done

Bravo for a great haiku about lovely fish in the ocean. There are so many colorful things down there that we don't get to see. "Rainbow in the dark" indeed! Love it!

Another terrific poem! Beautiful illustration, so well described.
I do have a suggestion. The lily need no gilding, but consider "wasted colors."
(Or not.)

Thank you so much for your kind review and for taking the time to read and share your thoughts regarding my haiku. I appreciate your comments and encouraging response, Don. Thanks, too, for your suggestions. I used nameless colors because there are fish we never get to see so deep in the ocean.

You've written a fine haiku
with excellent concrete imagery in the colors/ocean
with good grammatical connection in present tense
A solid "reflective" satori line
Excellent picture to match
Nicely done

Some time ago I wrote a poem about a rainbow, not posted here viewed from the other side that came to the conclusion that it must be black. this haiku should be its companion -- rainbow in the dark there are some fantastic contradictions here when you think about it. a worthy addition to the book.

Thank you very much, Pantygynt, for your kind review and comments for this haiku. It just fascinates me that there are fish so deep in the ocean, we may never see them, and never know or see their colors. But still, they must create a colorful rainbow of fish swimming around happily in the dark. Thanks.

One os the first things I did when I moved to Florida was take up scuba diving. It's a different world underwater. The colors are amazing. Like nothing you will ever see on land.

Yes, a rainbow in the dark, what a clever thought and if only we could see under the ocean? Clever words forming an underwater rainbow, love Dolly x

LOVE that satori line. Superb work. Publishable, in fact. You should submit it! The imagery, word economy and phonetics are all outstanding. Consonance and alliteration of S plus consonance of L and C-K make it sounds great read aloud 9not an easy achievement in short forms). My favorite is the AHA satori line. Brilliant and imaginative. Inspiring message too. The descriptive lines are superb as well...really highlight the dark by showing note telling:

nameless colors
swim the sunless ocean depths

Kudos!

Love,
rd
