Expectations can let one down in the long run. The ending of this poem was perfect for the thought transference here. This was an well-written poetic voice that I found no errors in it. It was my pleasure to have read and written this response for it... John

I think that most all of us who put pen to paper cross a threshold at some point in time. That is an internal transition where we consider ourselves to be a writer. Your kind words and encouragement have helped push me closer to the point of no return, where I put myself in a class with you, the writers of FanStory. I believe that this poem, EXPECTATION, is a seminal piece for me. I want to thank you so very much for taking the time to read and then to review my work. For your kind words and five wonderful stars, I stand in awe! May God bless you! Dr. Nad

A nice life-lesson poem that hits the nail on the head. This poem was enjoyable to read. I especially like the line, Choices we make have consequences.
Far too often this isn't considered until it's too late.
Nice posting.
Thank you!

Your poem reminds me of the adage, "under promise/over deliver." I agree that too often we overthink an upcoming experience and make it so that the reality cannot live up to the unrealistic expectation. The best days seem to be the ones that include a pleasant surprise. This message is well-blended in the poem.

Thank you for sharing your charming poem. The picture makes the reader
sympathetic with the generation who has to carry on with hatching babies.
the idea of unrealistic expectation is a problem for everyone and as you say
resolved in work.

A very well -written poem. Your words flowed well line to line combining easily and forming the message of the poem for the reader. Your artwork and background color completed the piece well.

I think the problem is that when it comes to US, we want everyone to perform at their highest, but when it comes to others, we want to perform at our lowest and care very little. --This is a very general rule across the board, of course. *smile* We're all a bit spoiled. Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful! Brilliant! Who would have thought! Unrealistic Expectation! Meaning we create our own problems and our own stresses through our own expectations of the world that surrounds us. Rather, another way of putting it, it is really a matter of perspective. Why should God be blamed for everything, why should he fix all our problems? Does he have to? Does he? No! I loved it. Congrats my friend! Congrats!

A very interesting and imaginative poetic verse that is full of a powerful truth, we all may have unrealistic expectations at times.

I like the message you have in your poem. We can't lower ourselves to expect anything. We are better than that. I am a late learner and still learning this. Enjoyed thanks for sharing.
