Oh, you make my mouth water. Excellent sensory imagery. I am jealous of those flames licking the maple. Yum. Excellent satori line!

This is a very clever haiku using the play on words of the maple log and the hot syrup. Syllable count is spot on and I can see it without the picture.

This picture reminds me of the electric fireplace I have in the living room.

As a youth, I lived on a farm that had a real fireplace. I miss sitting next to it and occasionally cooking marshmallows in it.

Love the fire place - looks warm been really cold here - 28 below temp actual temp burr - I think you did a nice job on this poem . I think if you entered in the contest you might have won. Sarah

    your welcome - it is -6 here currently feels like -15 currently and our low tonight is expected to -23 with a high for tomorrow of 3 degrees :) the fireplace looks very inviting and warm :) - Sarah

Nice imagery and crisp words.
I guess maple logs in a fireplace would make hot syrup.
Very creative and an excellent picture choice.
