They are very beautiful, indeed! It looks like it would take a lot of time. I've seen some examples of these on Youtube. I was wondering about your use of the word, "shinny." Did you mean "shiny?" Or is there another meaning to "shinny" other than to climb up a tree or a hockey reference?

These are lovely, and you story surrounding them is wonderful in spirit and admiration of this tradition. It looks like it would take a bit of an engineering feat to keep them balanced and even.

I loved this little write Teresa Yes they look great and the fact he makes them by hand from scratch makes them all the more impressive, Yes he definitely has a talent there for sure and congrats on your length of happy marriage so refreshing in this day of many divorces.

This is a nice way to start the new year. Taking account of the people around us and all that they do is important. Sometimes things that seem like incidental items are huge in others' eyes. I wish I knew how to make one of those. Maybe you can dedicate a post to a DIY instruction page. Happy New Year.
