Jay such a finely rhymed and metred poem you have written about such a profound truth. I especially liked how you drew the connection from our sight along the pathway from our eyes to our brains with the "myopic" idea that faith and eternity can be seen so easily.
A most enjoyable poem. :)

This skillfully-created poem is very thought-provoking--addressing the
theme of SIGHT and what it can and cannot mean. You're right: we can't
"see" what God's not ready for us to see.

Super write, finding a creative composition, rewarding its uniqueness of perception, structured poetic conveyances within lines. Well done in my opinion a very touching read.

Hello again, My friend. You are a very wise man as reflected in your writing. I learn that more with every one of your postings
'Still, he searched the mysteries
of life's final afterglow.
'Till void of hope, he realized,
some things we cannot know."
Bless you,y friend. Bob

Hello jaybird,
This is an inspirational story to read. I think you presented some interesting things to think about. Forgive me, but when I read your title. "One Eyed Man" it brought back memories of when a friend used to joke about the one-eyed pocket trout. I see now that wasn't what your poem was about at all.

In the country of the blind, they discriminate against one-eyed men...what do popes and multischooled theologians really think...can you study your way to sneak a peek beyond "the door of darkness?" or did the ancient prophets really nibble a little amanita muscaria...the path of faith is about all we have...excellent 8/6/8/6 quatrains...

If I were to define faith, it would be that, to fix our eyes on the one who died for us, and walk in those footsteps set before us, no matter what. Figuring it out is too hard to comprehend. A deeply philosophical look at the unanswerable, unpredictable and incomprehensible, beautifully written in articulate, smooth, ballad format, in abcb rhyming, great write, well done, blessings, Roy

I enjoyed reading this. The verse is well written and constructed in a logical manner as it flows through the poem. Your authors notes added another dimension to the main character and causes us to stop and think about him in a different way. Good job.

Your one-eyed man was a man of faith. Death is an individual's last and greatest unknown. The one-eyed man would see the other side at the same time the rest of us will see it. Well thought our plot line. Good abcb rhyme scheme. Good question. Good job.
