HA! Yes, Congressman, please...and author - PLEASE PUBLISH. This is a 'voice' to be heard in so much of what I have read, lancellot. Kudos for writing it, and in such a way that its message is loud and clear!

Point well stated, but I'm afraid that Joylene still didn't understand. She's believed her way for so long, to accept such an inclusive point of view would go against all she's been fighting for.
It's very difficult to change a belief system.

Your congressman makes good sense, his opponents are guilty of all the things they're accusing him of. But in real life, since he doesn't belong to a designated victim group, they'd shout him down, assuming they hadn't already held a protest to get him banned from speaking in the first place.

Well done, Lance. You made a sense of reality in the room with your dialogue and characterizations in this piece.
I liked the way you stated this btw:
"You just confirmed what I already knew. You people will never see our pain and our struggles. You will never understand why we fight and sacrifice against the oppression all black people endure every single day."
Blessings and Happy Holidays to you and yours, my friend. Bob

An interesting script about the true lesson on discrimination. You brought up a valid point about how people discriminate against their own people by generalizing what they think others might or should, think.
Great job,
Rhonda

You never disappoint in your consistency of fairness and rational thinking. MTV just made a piece that tells white men they are privileged and at fault for racism...doesn't do anything intended (or is it just supposed to promote the liberal divide and conquer of victim politics?) Thanks for always sharing truisms in an engaging way.

I like the way that you expressed your feelings in this short but to the point script. I really enjoy editing good scripts and you have a very good one here.

YOU CAN'T FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS IF YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE OTHERS OUT OF THE CONVERSATION. ONE CAN'T DISCRIMINATE AGAINST ANOTHER WITH OUT BEING TRUTHFUL OF DOING THE SAMR THING TO OTHERS

Interesting, and well written. Your Congressman makes his points well.
I think I found a few minor spags for your review:
What are you going to do to make government and companies look more like America. Diversity means being inclusive to blacks, browns, LGBT and women? -- first statement is a question but ends with a period. Opposite is true for the second.
and demand that your dad be fired and replaced by a minority in the name of diversity. -- a long sentence, but started as a question, so I think it should also end with a question mark.
You and your friends, wear matching shirts -- no comma needed here.
Congressman: You have to earn that. -- true, but confrontational, and also implies he does not respect her now. Consider pointing out how he already is showing her respect by engaging in this conversation.
I'm not sure where you are going with this. Will something more develop out of this confrontation in the lecture hall? And are you giving Schapiro a strong enough opponent? It seem those who take the microphone to challenge him are not mustering the best arguments, and yield too quickly and easily.
Looking forward to the next part! Keep writing!

Very good scene. One of the things you do well is the back-and-forth between two opposing views.
Excellent lines:
'you cannot fight discrimination by discriminating'
'Respect.' 'You have to earn that.'
A few spags:
glares (at) the man
Mc(C)lain raises his hand
Before we begin, will you
(truly) noble
