When I read facts like these, it really really bothers me that a man thought of this and performs this. Correct? If so, it bothers me because, is there a practice whereby males are getting their testicles snipped? Or penises, shortened? I'm just wondering. It bothers me that a little girl, or grown woman would have to unnecessarily suffer like this due to tradition.

Obviously, your poem has provoked emotions within me, and that is the sign of a great piece of work. You did good and thank you for sharing.

What a very unique topic you have chosen for that contest. Your author
notes are very informative as well.

These following lines stood out to me:

This is so barbaric and horrible even to think about this still being done to young girls, talk about it being a man's world wherever this is performed. A beautiful picture you've used Mary of these innocent little girls, and what they may face brings tears to the eyes. Good luck in the contest

Difficult to read and so heartbreaking...truth, though. These little girls go through so much unnecessary and barbaric pain and ritual and are scared for the rest of their life. So precious and innocent, their life and health have been taken into hands of others for cruel practice. Well written. Good luck on the contest. Ella

A very well-written informative poem. I knew that children especially are abused sexually but this is another form of abuse that made my tummy turned around. How people can do these things and still think they have a right to walk the earth.
