A lovely little entry in this "first romantic experience" poetry contest entry, the subject reminded me of my elder daughter, blonde, pert, and when young, had a blonde ponytail that swayed beautifully as she walked, she is a very pretty, he said proudly. Oh the hurt of first love. I have two sons whose girlfriends dumped them in college, after several years together. It hit them hard. Mentally, i was right there with you as a boy. Thank you for sharing.

What a cute story to go with the perfect artwork. The flow of your poem is unique, but works for me. I found myself wanting you to fill in the blanks between 6th grade and college. That is quite a run not to be together anymore. Regardless, thanks for taking me back to grade school and the memory of my own crushes that usually lasted no longer than two weeks.
