I'm late reading this, again, so I almost didn't point out the nit below since by now you've probably corrected it. Anywho ... enjoyed reading it. I'm waiting for your family saga, though. That's where my Shari shines! LOL.

I noticed Mikey writes his name right at the end of most of his pieces, even when it's supposed to be in the blind. I don't know why since his style is fairly distinctive anyway.

No one caught my spag but you, sweet Jay. One more chapter to go in my saga, then I'm going to go on hiatus for a while and get the book ready for self-publishing. I'll pop it now and again to pursue some writers. BTW, you want to check out Kelly 2 who is writing an hilarious book about her alcoholic mother who is also a hoader and keeps a lot of cats in her trailer.

Well said. This bothers me, too. I can always tell Dean's posts, for example. I like the contests where the one who starts it states no pictures, no colors, etc. Then it's harder to cheat.

I've just started entering contests again and I try my hardest to not make it known it's me. If I get a six star review I try to respond after voting so my name doesn't show and stuff like that. Do I make it known it's me without even trying in my writings? Now, I'm going to have to pay attention to that. lol. Great job

Bahaha. In high school I use to start every sentence with so. So, how are you today? So, what time is it? So, where are you going? So, I'm doing well today. So, I think I'm going to stay home tonight, sorry. You can literally start anything with so. lol. When we wrote notes back and forth with my friends they would count all the so's. I think it became a game to them. lol

so they can get their votes.
I think, to answer your question, there are some members
who vote for content, some for style and some for fans/friends.
The split pot would work if it were done correctly
that is, split between the top three vote getters,
not the idea of first, second and third.
This is how it is done in professional golf
The person with more votes always wins more.
I came in tied for first in one contest and the person in third
more twice as much money.
But I just enjoy the site for what it is:
a fun place to learn and meet great people from around the world

I am pretty much know as a poet who write a lot of faith based works, so when it is a blind entry I bend over backwards not to mention anything faith based. Patricia

I am in agreement with you on this one. There is one author who will say something like this, Thanks for reading my work on most post and I have even seen this write using it on his/her work. Whenever I vote, it usually ends up the loser. I'd be lousy at gambling.

I think they vote for their favorite. I couldn't swear to that but that is just what I think. I do agree, many have a specific style that is easily recognized. There is nothing wrong with that other than it does identify who they are. I try to be unbiased but must admit when I am teetering I usually go with one I think I am familiar with...not right, but I am only human.
