A very emotive piece, the subject acknowledges that there have been periods when all seems too much, overwhelming, beyond conceptualization. That said. the subject is alive to tell the tail, surely this alone a testament of personal strength. A short piece that succinctly expresses this valid theme.

Hi Relda,

I think that most of us, at some point in our lives, experience a time when things seem/are soOO dark. You have described those times very well here in your poem here, Relda. "when music brought no joy" is my favourite line. One knows they are in a pretty dark place when even music can bring them no joy.

Connie - thanks for your comments and encouragement. Thank God there are also times of MUSIC!!!
My neighbors don't like it, but sometimes, when I have my coffee- break on the deck, I belt out a song of thankfulness. (Set's the dogs in the area howling, but I think I sound good.)

Haha, I can relate, Relda. When I sing I am asked, "Are you feeling ok?". :) Yes, thank God there are times of music.
