I have been there. First when I caught my first love cheating, second time when we learned we could not have children, and third when my mom died. There have been others but the point is these are the moments that stick with us. Those that change us for better or worse. You have captured that so eloquently in your poem. A piece to be remembered. Tucked away dogearred in a favorite book. Thank you for sharing your work.

    Hi! Nice to meet you.
You've made me cry ... I'm touched that you've been touched.
I really needed this today. My husband is having a difficult day with his ALS. I can't always make him feel better. You've made me feel better.
    Thank you.
    God bless and my best,
    Relda

You've certainly put these feelings down well. I am sure the majority of people will recognise your thoughts and feelings as some they have shared. This is a very good contest entry, well done, and good luck. :) Sandra xx

Sandra - thank you for your comments and encouragement.
And good to talk to you. I've been off FS for a number of months (family illness) and it's really good to be back.

Currently Bud's (my husband's) ALS seems plateaued. His hands, arms and shoulders are gone - muscle wasted too nothing. However, the disease hasn't affected his breathing or swallowing yet, and his leg's are only slightly affected. Hopefully we'll be on this plateau for awhile.

    ALS is totally unpredictable.

    We're in good spirits.

Outstanding interpretation for the contest, Relda. You have an excellent sense of "feelings" I think your poem stands a very good chance of einning in the competition. Good luck.. I will be rooting for you. blessings, Bob

Hi, Relda. It seems like forever. Have you been away? Bob

My Bud has been having a really rough time (ALS) and though I've coped really well, haven't had the emotions (or the creative juices) to be on FS. Don't know how to explain ... made me cry when I signed on ... also couldn't listen to music for same reason. MAYO says ALS progression is totally unpredictable. Hope this plateau is a long one.

You have written a very emotional poem for this contest. Your words describe feelings that many of us can relate to. For some, life and love comes easy. But, for others, it can be a constant struggle. Good luck. Take care. Bill

I liked your emotion poem. Yes, we do all see pain and emotion in different ways. If you face it and deal with it, then sometimes it will make your stronger. Your poem expressed deep hurt and showed feelings. Well done in style and verse.

You have captured the essence of depression is so few words. The thought of never being happy again is a common thread. Things that used to bring us joy, now makes us sad... sigh. Bravo and good luck with the contest. judester

Hi Relda, you did a great job with the feelings prompt. The pain and hurt are deep in this poem. I can relate to past times and the darkness felt.

According to the bible book of romans, chapter 2 and verse 15, we are excused or even accused by our own thoughts. That is because our thoughts are rarely in harmony with God's thoughts. So often when we are ready to throw in the towel God says, "Not yet." I don't know about you but I am so happy that this is so, otherwise I would have given up so many years ago and missed out seventy three wonderful years of life. My only words for you are to hang tough and for God's sake and ours, keep right on writing.

You are so right. Know Jesus has the rope in his hand, tie a knot on your end, and don't let go.
When I beat myself up for getting down from time-to-time, I go back to Psalms. Those writers knew about depression as well as joy!
    God bless and my best,
    Relda
