Looks like a legitimate sonnet to me. Meter is a challenge. yes, first line looks good. da--dum, da dum. This certainly ain't easy as apple pie to check meter, but looks like your meter is good. Oh, this is a beauty! I love your word choices! Very nice piece of pie. Oh, YOU NAILED THIS Sonnet! perfect!

Well done, Mikey. This is a lot of fun and very well written. I enjoyed it a lot, and the rhyming was great. Persistence often pays off, as your faith in the little apple tree proved, Giddy

Well, I must say, that you've done a magnificent job of making this old dude hungry. A big slice of apple pie, a la mode, or maybe three or four slices would do me good. Thanks for another fine poem. :-)

I enjoyed reading your Potlatch. My husband has to protect his young trees from deer. We have over 30 deer in our neighborhood and they love young tender trees. You're right Governments could care less about solving issues peacefully.

I can visualize you planting the seeds, but not baking a pie. Of course it is presumptuous of me to assume anything. Nice work with this one. Very nice poem about baking a pie with a little social commentary to go with it.

This is a very nice poem. It's melodically passed rhyme and reader would lend well to a song. Several layers of meaning here: Symbolic apple pie stands for America, war causes neglect to all that need nurture, There is always hope for recovery.

This looks like an excellent potlatch challenge entry, there's pie in the couplet, and the form has all the earmarks of a Shakespearean sonnet. In my opinion.

Oh a perfect sonnet and one that had a great ending and brought tears at the same time.
I did not know where you were going till you added the war theme.
Nicely done dear friend
