Dear Mystery Writer,

This was clever and wonderfully written. I enjoyed every bit of it. *smile* My only tiny question was when you mentioned the 'dry' corn stalks and then the 'ripe ears of golden corn'. Those two things seem to conflict. (??) Otherwise, great write! Good luck!

    Thank you. Nope, as a farmer myself I will inform you that the corn is not fully ripe until the stalks turn brown and the ears have time to dry. A farmer will leave the corn until it is as dry as possible before combinning.

    Ahhhh -- for the combining! We were farmers, too, but we picked ourselves. And I remember VERY well the way those green leaves of corn cut me and made me itch like crazy! hahahaha! So, we're both right! Thanks!
