Welcome back! This is a fantastic poem. Great descriptions and imagery. Love the artwork too. I think I've dated a guy like this more than once!

:( You and many others. Your feelings are shared honestly in your poetry and you describe a 'typical deceitful man' well. You have managed to write something personal in a general form, that im sure many others will be able to recognise in their own ;deceitful men'.

Definitely an interesting poem that addresses the intense cruelty of the reality of life. The stages of the attraction of addiction are as real to the sufferer as they could be. The picture creates the sense of conflict. Great job, thanks.

I enjoyed your romp into poetry. THis one was a double whammy: the first being what I thought was a confessional of a romance gone sour; the second turned on the word "Addiction" (of which there are countless varieties) none of which is healthy. Then I remembered, Missy is probably exercising the poetry dimension to study the human condition. Any way you cut it, it's good writing--for this person who hardly ever reviews poetry.

BTW, your vacation from FS must have coincided with mine. I was gone all of October, working on my play.

Welcome back, Missy! I have missed you. Saw you on facebook a lot but not here.
This poem is sad but emotionally charged in a lot of ways.

Especially these lines:

"But now,
The bruises to my soul
Are harder to
Hide"

Bravo! Goodm to see you back. :) X Bob

Hi Missy, you are back!!! Thought you'd gone for good. So glad you're back with us again, and with a wonderful poem. Nothing worse than a two faced person. Not nice at all. Especially if you fall in love. All the best. Ulla:)))

It sounds that he was addicted to women. A very revealing poem, of a love that could not last. Well done in style and vision of poem. I liked your poem.

Yes I agree with you, an attractive face, male or female can be a distraction, but I remember a biblical proverb, "Be as wise as a serpent, but as gentle as a dove" (Matthew 10:16. in other words be wise in the ways of the world, but maintain an outlook of innocence, on can recover eqalibrium. Deceiptfulness can really hurt, but love's wisdom conquers all. Well done, beautifully written and composed, welcome back, missed you, blessings, Roy
