You are right. The picture is awesome. When paired with your well-chosen, meaningful words, a great poem emerges.
Your couplets tell the story of your desire to change well with God's help. I like line about God being all knowing.

You really touched my heart with you very kind words. I never ever thought I would be penning poems, with only a high school education I didn't feel smart enough. I know it is God who is using me, many times I am amaze how I can pen a poem in less than thirty minutes and receive great reviews. All the Glory and honor belongs to Him. God has placed me in the midst of some loving and very kind people who accepted me for who I am. That in itself means the world to me. I love my Fanstorian Family and I thank God for you. In my opinion, a beautiful prayer, emotional in expression and fervor - rhyme can be more even - this is accomplished by reading the poem aloud several times and deleting a word here and there. With your permission, just examples - deleting the word, "pure" in the 9th line, and the last line to read, with added commas, "Oh Lord, my God, my solemn vow."...

When we give up the helm and become God's fist mate, God takes control of our ship to right it and get us though the tumultuous, dangerous craggy rocks of life.
