Haha, very cute ending! Great poem has lots of good descriptions that paint a great mental picture and revealed the teller's personality. Excellent choice of artwork.

As an INFP introvert type with pre-menopausal hypersensitivity madness, I can really relate to this!
Great imagery, great flow adn free verse style. great alliteration too, on H, in home, harbor and hacienda
and F or PH on fling, foxhole, foothills & phobias
Love this description (and alliteration of m):
a mansion
towering above
a
menagerie of madness
that threatens my serenity.
Outstanding voicing with internal rhyme, alliteration of W and consonance plus alliteration of P and consonance of S and soft C as well:
Hurry up-
before I fade
into the world's woodwork
parachute me into my drop zone
of pastel surroundings
that will embrace --not erase me.
Outstanding extended metaphor as well!
Good closing note--satirically intense, and with superb alliteration of C and D:
Plop me down
on my comfy couch
where my cat awaits me
and
raise the damn drawbridge.
I'm not a cat person, but I can still totally relate!
Your title is perfect....drew me in. Fine presentation as well.

Thanks, rd, for the superb, detailed review. Years ago I was an INFJ. I'm sure over the years there has been a little shifting in that determination. For better or worse? Who knows.

What a great expression of introversion! I especially like the use of the various verbs, "take, tuck, fling, parachute and plop". They give a good visual sense of the uneasiness that the introvert feels when he is not on his comfy couch with his cat and secure within his castle by an uplifted drawbridge.

This is a very good entry into the contest about home, Your poem makes it very inviting to be able to just get away from it all especially into a cosy home with no interceptions except from the cat.
