Mikey!! are you a lollygagger??? love your Halloween story of younger years ( heart strings tugging at mother reference)..Halloween over the years sure has changed!! I grew up in inner city Chicago... nothing but trouble. I enjoyed your story here...

it used to be a lot of fun back then and the kids looked forward to the big night now you have to be careful and watch out for the stalking clowns

Michael,

Your Halloween story does paint a great picture of life in the good old days & in a small town. You did a great job with the imagery. I can 'see' this place with its unlocked doors & trick or treaters walking in the middle of the street without a care in the world. What fun. Compared to today, parents would probably be arrested if their kids were out til they came home when came home.

I like how the story progressed from when you were very young to a teenager--all based around Halloween.
