I'm going to go out on a limb and say she didn't remember to say anything about your hair, or if she did, it was probably not a compliment. Shucks, I thought I was going to meet Jeff. Maybe next time, lol. Very clean writing and entertaining.

Take care,
Russell

Haha...I see why you used the skunk picture. I bet it wasn't as bad as all that. Hopefully, Nichole will notice and finally give you a compliment. I am truly happy shr agreed on the "family" reunion. :-)

Hi, Shari

= LOL! Hope she notices you hair!
= It will be interesting finding out what happens. (*<*)

= So sorry, I apologize for not reviewing your work the last few days.
= My FM has been acting up of late, so it has slowed me down a lot.
= Just cannot concentrate the last few days, or get around too well.
= I'm also trying to get ready for company this weekend--not easy while sick.
= It will be a few days until I can get back into the swing of things.
= I didn't want you to think I'm ignoring you. Just need down time.
= I hate to do it, but please excuse the cut/paste.

No apologies. Friends don't need them and enemies won't believe them. I'm guilty of skipping your novels as romance and westerns don't excite me, but I do catch your poems.
Nothing's easy when sick. FS should be fun, not work. I delete a lot when I get too far behind. And many of my fans have left the site. Seems as if Tom is catering to the newbies.

So ... have I missed much since last reading your book, Shari? LOL I'm sorry I missed so much, but decided WTH and just start reading again. I hope you don't mind. I enjoyed this snippet of you and your family and getting back into the story. No changes. Look forward to the family dinner.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Appreciate your delving back in. I'm almost finished. You're coming in at a time when issues with my daughter are somewhat resolved.

Shari,
I enjoyed this piece. Perhaps because things seem to be going in a positive direction. I thought it was good for your relationship with Nichole that she so easily agreed to a dinner without Jeff at her side. I especially got a kick out of the 'skunk' hairdo. You're braver than I am. I'm afraid I'd have made her fix it before I left the place.

As always, this is very well written. You know how to grab a reader at the very beginning. Any piece that starts with, "As usual, I didn't take his advice . . . " is something that almost begs you to read on to find out what happened because of ignoring advice. You also know where to stop to ensure the reader returns for the next installment. I groaned when this ended before the dinner with you four.

Excellent job with this.

Foolish me. I should have shown the hairdresser a picture of what I had in mind. As my hair keeps thinning, I'm going to buy a good wig, maybe two--it's surprising how many women wear them in this community.
I like you comment on my opening line. I thought too that it was a good hook.
Thanks so much for the exceptional writing and your encouraging comments.

How could she MISS your hair, if it looks as you said, like a sunburned skunk. LOL! Seriously, it's great that Nichole didn't even blink and was instantly willing to leave Chris out of it. :)

I think you meant "leave Jeff out of it," not Chris. She makes an interesting remark about her husband in his presence.

I splurged and let my hairdresser color my hair a darker shade of red and add streaks of blonde throughout. She made one streak so wide in the front, I looked in the mirror and could only think "skunk". Not a look for me. Hahahahahahaha! :)

I busted lout laughing when I red that bit.

Glad the suggestion worked out. I know you had your doubts. It is said the for married people that time apart is equally important as time together. People are different and have different needs and interests. Nice to see your daughter pursuing the old song and dance of her youth. I can relate. I find myself wanting to try things that I was too shy and awkward to try when I was younger, acting being one of them. Hope she is still doing that.

Now I got to wait to see how the dinner went. Fingers crossed that it when well...

Thanks, Diane, for my mild attempt at humor. I did look like a skunk but learned to comb it just right.
Good for you for trying new things. Nichole also learned to ice skate just for something new to do.

Ha, this is a great chapter, Shari. I got a real chuckle out of the skunk look of the streak. LOL. Sometimes family does forget to compliment each other, as I think you're supposed to just know what they think.

I really enjoyed this again. Terrific writing and story.

This sounds like it will be a fun time for you, Frank, Chris and Nicole to spend an evening of fine dining. Hopefully she will notice your hair and with some luck maybe even your outfit. Your outfit sounds delightful. Patricia

You make a wonderful strategist, figuring out details like hotels and how to finagle a reunion with only the four of you. I'm hoping it went well.
Good job setting up for the next installment.

Thanks for catching my misspelled word. I don't know what I would have done if Nichole had insisted on including Jeff.
