Beautifully inspirational free verse poem. A couple of apostrophes omitted in possessives: Father(')s and footprint(')s.
Well done. :) Nancy

I enjoyed the March of contrasts in your work, the sadness and coldness of things that never seem to change, and the wistfulness of dawning hope that only lands on few shores, beautifully written Michael, well done, blessings, Roy

This was an enjoyable read. I particularly enjoyed the bit about "once frostbitten, twice shy," - a clever twist on the cliché phrase. Nicely done overall.

Hi Michael,

You just a little bit of SPAG (apostrophes on the words Father's, Soul's, and Love's in the last line.) At least, that is how I read those words, disregard if it isn't how you intended them to read.

You've borrow a few of my favorite song lyrics, "cold as ice" by Foreigner and "once bitten, twice shy" by Great White. I wonder if anyone else noticed?

It was an interesting read. Thanks for sharing.

Those happen to be songs I've always really enjoyed, that's why the pairings caught my attention :) I didn't mean any offense, Michael.

Once again, you improve and give your all. Your sense of ownership to a language and style...making it your own shall pay dividends, for this battle between coldness of an entity, battling through acceptance and hope for tomorrow as well as a spiritual high, is the these through your writes, and how you do it well.

We walk together, my friend, and with us the presence of our Maureen. so you tell me what place can we not venture?

''tending her Fathers gardens
and the resurrection of dead flowers
gentle as forgiveness smiles ''

The above is the gentleness of a heart...its all yours, my friend.

My best wishes.
RG
