What a different take on the contest and one that could be a children's story with out the fear and terror.
Loved the ending, no problems noted

Lovely tone and enchanted theme that reminded me of childhood. It was great to find your writing and a part of your bio. I'm Spanish as well. Mucho gusto de conocerte!

You are? There's another girl here who's Spanish too. Gypsy Blue Rose. Do you know her?

Hi Maria
this is truly a wonderful fantasy write. I enjoyed reading how the haunted house Matilda wanted so much to have it changed and she got her wish. It turned into youth centre. Well done Mary

waited with abated breath. (waited with bated breath)

Thanks for reading and noticing my mistake. No matter how many times you read and reread a piece there are always some left.

How clever and cute. The personification of houses works for me. Poor Matilda didn't fit in with the rest of her family. How many of us can connect with this?

I'm sure the house is happier for it. Take it from someone who knows, nothing cheers a house up like the sound of children.

What a lovely twist on the normal haunted house thing. I've always thought that houses contain the personalities and propensities of their "lovers", that love or hate, or indeed any emotion could be absorbed into the very heart of the home opposed to house, and I'm inclined to believe others do too. Beautifully scribed and well plotted, good house characters and a happy ending, well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

What a delightful haunted house story! I can't think of a happier one! *smile* Do you know, I don't think I've ever read a story where a poet took the haunted house in THIS direction? odd. But good on you! Good luck!

Yeah, the story is a bit odd. I must have been in a weird mood this morning... ;)

I love it! A haunted house with a different twist.

I would never have thought about having the house "family" communicate with each other. Poor little house was an outcast as far as haunted houses go. Sort of like Casper the Friendly Ghost.

You did a great job. What an imagination! 8-)

This was absolutely great. Giving the house a personality and a name was a unique idea. Having the children come up with the idea to refresh the old home was a wonderful twist. An otherwise useless home was usable and sounds like it was treasured and Matilda-the house was once more loved. Great story, thanks for sharing.
