A fine poem. Well constructed. I like the light touch at the end which makes your verses not only uplifting but likeable. It's true that persons of integrity are viewed with suspicion. But that shouldn't deter us from following their example.

when the poem started I thought you were putting him down.
I liked the rhythm of this. you did well to write it and it would sound good on a bar stool I think. Not to demean it in any way. Inner peace sounds good too. Love the work well done.

LOL! You fooled me since I thought the last stanza would reveal that you had been speaking about Jesus :). Clever redirect at the end which left me laughing. I wouldn't mind a bag myself. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Of course the only man who I know walked that road was Jesus, His disciples didn't understand Him at all, but to many who don't want to walk in falsehood or hypocrisy, it was very attractive, it is to me, and I've strived with little success for 35 years, with little, but I hide in Him. The structure, flow, and choice of rhymes show a very gifted writer at his best. The descriptions are unique and clever. They tell the story of an uncommon man in ways, I fully understand and can appreciate. There is nothing I would change in this. I find no flaws or weaknesses. I love each stanza so well, it is hard to choose the one I love the best. Well written and enjoyable to read. Thank you for introducing your friend to me. You are fortunate to know him. In my opinion, a striking poem about an honored friend, not celebrated for his similarities, but for his differences - demonstrating quiet admiration and notable respect.
