I like ..... "he makes money not growin' things. The more he doesn't grow, the more he makes." Tragic but funny or vice versa.
You have an interesting prose assignment. What made you choose, Caleb Brookstone? You make some good points. I guess if farmers listen to the crazy government we would all go hungry. Thank God for calebs.
Great job, sweetie pie, luv ya.

Years ago people work for what they need to survive and was perfectly happy just to have the necessary and keep working to feed their families. Today we work to pay our debts, the more we have the more we want and seldom anyone have a happy face, they worry to keep their possessions safe, and lost their own souls.

Thanks for sharing another great job of writing. I could actually see the person I thought was writing this piece, and it was spot on from type, pictures, to the words of what it says. Great job. :-)

I think your sawmiller would be interested in the people trying to make a living shafting other people with a laptop. This is an excellent letter entry.

Very good, Mikey. I especially like the part about being paid NOT to grow anything. Sick, sick, sick. Our govt is sick in the head. :)

This is a well written response to the potlatch prompt, mikey. This reminds me of Iowa's Senator Grassley who makes over a million dollars a year for NOT farming his land and then voted against food stamps for the poor. I get angry every time I think about it. How do these jerks get elected over and over ... Anyway, a good write, my friend~Debbie

Can you imagine how some like Caleb would feel if he found himself in the present time. Well, yes, I guess you can. You just wrote great letter to the editor from him.
I'm with Caleb. I laugh at the idea of getting paid to grow nothing. Never made sense.
This was very enjoyable to read. 8-)
