This poem touched me the most in this contest because I think of all of the pets I have loved and lost and hope to see one day in heaven. Your poem is well balanced with Life/Death with a heart of yearning for reunion in the center.

I get the heartbreak of the situation.
But you've chosen life and death as your bookends.
Maybe something more personal, something more
specific to loved one could
