Oh, wish I could visit Bulgaria when I was younger, and now too, if health and time permits...And think now is a relatively peaceful country compared to some these days..Though, I Thank you for this poem that takes me there that way....Being I feel a kinship to that Country and do remember my Bulgarian, Grandpa Doneff..when I was such a wee child he would bake bread with yellow raisins and nut & poppy seed rolls in my mom's kitchen stove in Illinois, and the aroma would fill the kitchen with such a sweet, wondrous aroma..

What a great tribute to what must be a wonderful country to visit! I've never been to Bulgaria but I imagine if it's anything the way you described in beauty and hospitality, well then I hope I am blessed to go someday. Great poem!

I am really rather envious of your experiences in Bulgaria they sound really "en famille" which is by far the best way to fisit any foreign part. I was there in June this year as a tourist which is of course rather different but I was impressed with the country and the friendliness of the people. This is a fine paean to the place.
The for mis basically rhyming couplets of iambic tetrameter in quatrains with occasion metric substitution into pentameter and a couple of neat feminine endings. None of these substitutions make reading aloud difficult and they serve to vary the steady beat most attractively in a a poem of twenty-eight lines overall..

Thank you for your positive comments and the review of my work. As always, your points are clearly made and helpful. Yes, I agree with you about "how" you visit a foreign country. I was most fortunate, for I actually stayed in the home of a Bulgarian family and really saw life on a day to day basis. Wonderful experience!

What a wonderful memory and you seem to have captured it in your poem. I think the rhyme is good throughout and the flow carries one along well without breaking concentration. One can feel your attachment to this country and I believe that is the purpose of your poem so mission accomplished. Great job.
