What a powerful, prolific and heart warming and quite emotional poem. You submitted this on the 28th. I did not notice then. I noticed afterward, but I could not read it right away. My mother passed was on 29 August. She celebrated her birthday just six days before (on 23 August). Because she passed away, I was unable to read this poem. I tried but I could not even make it past the first line. Today, I read the entire poem with tear-filled eyes. It is so lovely and says so much. It is simply beautiful...your words....what she meant to you. It pulls at my heart; at my soul. It brings tears to my eyes. I love it. And the Art you picked fits so perfectly.
I am crying now not only from what I read, but I can emphasize with what you are going through...not because of my mom passing....but losing a best friend. I have been there myself not too long ago. I turned my feeling and emotions about losing my mother into Art. I poured myself into it too. I posted it on 31 August. It is called Mystical Alliance.
I AM DELIGHTED YOU PLACED IN THE TOP THREE. CONGRATS ON YOUR 2ND PLACE WIN. BRAVO! BRAVO! CLAP! CLAP!
Thanks for sharing a part of yourself in this poem and thanks for sharing it with us. I have to give you six stars because it is worth six...Actually it is worth more, but I am only authorized to give you six at the most.

I wish so much love for you and your loss. You touch me everytime you read something I write. This one is so close to home. I can't wait to read Mysitcal Alliance. I will find it today. Krissie and I truly did dance in the rain. We would sing together often too. Thank you for being a big part of my life. I treasure you and your friendship.

An excellent piece of pathetic fallacy where the weather takes on the sorrow of the grieving writer. The poem is also beautifully descriptive of the night sky, the coming change in the weather and the inevitable rainfall.

Thank you, I lost my best friend last November. I hated watching her for seven days on life support. Also, when I got home the night she died. The rain did come and I did go outside and become a part of it. It was and is healing to write.

A very well-written poem, start as confusing on how could someone you loved dearly be taken away so soon, the answer can be found in nature when the rain finally falls after a long drought and you start dancing in the rain where you feel the presence of your loved one dancing with you.

this actually happened Sandra, My best friend died last November. We were the type of friends who danced in the rain. Krissie was on life support for seven terrible days. Tell your families, don't chose life support. When the rain came that night I truly was outside and I did get soaked, laugh, dance and celebrate her life.

Losing a loved one is never something that anyone ever wants to go through. But knowing that God gives us peace with the little things in our time of grief, is a blessing. Very well done in poem and rhyme.

thank you , Roosty, It is actually a true story. I lost my best friend Krissie last november. I wached her on life support for seven days. After we took her off, I went home. That night it rained and I went outside. We were truly the kind of friends who danced and sang in the rain.

wow... really sad poem. You give it a happier ending, but it's still really sad. It's always sad when we lose a mother or anyone close to us. You wrote it verrry well, but it's not my kind of poem. There's enough sadness in the world. I'd like to hear humor and joy for a change. Maybe that's why I don't read much poetry anymore. It's usually a downer.

I understand. This one was about my best friend I lost last November. It was really hard watching her on life support for seven days. It helped me to write about it. The storm really happened that night too. And I did play in the rain. Thats the kind of friends we were. We played golf and we sang in the rainl

Awww... how tragic. And how hard that must have been for you. Life is fragile. We don't realize how much until we stare death in the face and know it's the fate of us all.

It is very hard for me to review a work that is so far
superior of anything that I could write.
You got your message across with the great rhythm, rhyme
and flow which made for a very smooth and comfortable read
thank you for giving me an example of what I should strive
for

You are so kind. My best friend died last November. We were actually the kind of friends who danced and sang in the rain. The seven days on life support were so awful. I wanted people to know that. she was such a blessing and I really did go outside that night and a rain storm came. Thank you for supporting me.

Wow what a clever story of loss yet perpetual, spiritual existence. Although sad throughout, I love the redeeming, final lines that express a turn of events that only highlight the spiritual world. You have effortlessly embedded the necessary words. Well done

What a great story you tell in this
wonderfully crafted poem, using all the required words.
The sadness turns to joy as the speaker dances in the rain and
realizes her loved on is there in spirit.
Good luck in the contest. Nancy
