Very beautiful, Michael - Congrats on your nomination for POM. I'm listening to the music you posted as I read and review your easy on the soul free verse. The touch is likewise light and easy on the heart. Not a thing to fix or change.

Great that you added the song! (I am now a JJ Cale fan!) Loved your version of his story. The more I read it, the more real Magnolia becomes and your beginning and ending verses frame your emotions for her very well!

-smile-...yea me too recently...he died in 2013. his friend Eric Clapton made a video honoring him....nothing fancy, just honesty. ha...why thank you...it is the poets purpose to bring the scent of that which is spoken into life. -smile-....alright...rock & roll. love Michael

When I think of New Orleans, I think of those unfortunate people at present who are homeless or their houses destroyed by all that flooding in Louisiana, though not sure if New Orleans was affected....So , don't know if the beautiful magnolia trees are in bloom, at present, or that is just a seasonal flower... Also, I think they grow in Georgia or, is that state famous, I think for peaches?...I'm a Midwestern, so unfamiliar with what grows in the South...though don't like Chicago too much, (high-crime city of the US) and do live in Illinois, in the Central part & have also a place out in the country also where I have 2 acres, I just love to visit there, now & then.. My daughter lives in Houston, Texas for about 17 yrs now..and likes it there And too ...for me she is a beautiful flower.

me too ...Carolina was were I first woke to the scent of magnolia. when I was stationed there...-smile-...I try to coordinate the poem with both picture and song....which isn't hard for me when I'm listening to whatever song is placed with poem while writing it...he JJ Cale....sings of his love left in Louisiana...and so therego...New Orleans...-smile- love Michael
