A delightful read to greet me this Sunday morning! I see another child's book series in Harriet :)
It made me almost feel a little sorry for the three I threw over a recent fence! Lol. Nice imagination and the bug party...too funny!

You SHOULD feel sorry. Cockroaches have feelings too, you know. (LOL)
Thanks much. :)

LOL! This is fun! Wherever did you find that video with the cat and roaches? It inspired a terrific story. Good job. And good luck in the contest. :)

LOL - thanks. Glad you liked it. But no, it's the other way around. I found the video after I wrote the story. I remembered the roach band from something I wrote a couple of years ago, and Joe's Apartment.

Haha...you are so clever, dear Dawn...cockroach pets...I was okay with it until you had the party and the number grew to 100+! Lol
In spite of the topic, it was a very enjoyable read and I hope it does well in the contest. :-)

Not at all - it was meant just to be funny. Thanks, CRW.

Thanks for the story. I won't sleep tonight. When my son was in the Marines he said he woke up with a cock roach in his mouth. "Don't eat them," he said, "Their bitter."

I've been wanting to have a pet again, but I'm reluctant since we travel so much. Maybe a cockroach is the answer, since it is small and portable--I should ask my son if he would be willing to care for it periodically. I don't use diatomaceous earth and wouldn't plan any roach parties--seems like a natural! Thanks for the fun and best wishes in the contest- Joan

Wow a lot of creativity went into this one. Hilarious. Especially liked the reference to the vet not dealing with bugs and you thought he dealt with them all the time. I have never seen Joe's Apt but my kids loved it. If I ever get an opportunity to see it on T.V will have to check it out.

Oh, Joe's Apartment is so cute! I haven't seen the whole thing either, but I used his 'towel' video a couple of years ago for something else (I forget what now though...sigh...LOL)
Thanks very much. :)

That was such a funny story, Dawn! I remember way, way back, when I rented a flat which had been a bakery before it was converted into two flats. One night I got up and the kitchen had loads of the blighters in it. The next day I called Rentakill, and they came and put some stuff down. Seeing that video of Joe's apartment, brought the whole nightmare back! Your story with you giving your pet cockroach a party, well I thought it was hilarious! And it would have hundreds of family members too! Well done my friend, your Amazing Pet will be a hard one to match. Good luck! xx Sandra

Okay, I'm smiling, but it doesn't cover up the fact that I am officially grossed out. OFFICIALLY. What on earth made you decide on a COCKROACH? Girl, when I worked as a phone tech, there were houses I could smell when I scooted up the sidewalk! It's a VERY distinctive odor. One I do NOT wish to live with. Sooo.....I WON'T be visiting until the bug dies. Let me know.

GREATStory. Loved it. Very original and imaginative (unless its true then good biography). And it brought back some great memories and nostalgia with Joes apartment videos.
