I admire believers in invisible gods in spite of all evidence to the contrary. I once believed that Atheism was as indefensible as Theism, and thus was an Agnostic. But Stephen Hawking laid that thought to rest and I embraced Atheism with relief.

Yes, Jesus spoke of the relationship you have with Hawking...He said, "When a blind man follows a blind man, they both will fall into a ditch." Your relief is only temporary as you rest in the words of a mere man, which you will find out as soon as God pulls the plug on you. I sincerely hope you change your mind about both yours and Hawking's spiritual abilities and turn to Christ, the only One who can open your blind eyes. Dennis

God bless you, dear sister Janet. The good news is we can grow in grace and outlook to do things we never thought we could do by His Spirit. Much of true growth comes from our understanding of scripture. It is my conviction that we must learn further truth from the viewpoint and instruction of the Apostle Paul. To him was given the complete revelation of the mystery of the church and how we are to view ourselves as new creatures in God's sight, not just forgiven sinners. We have an "old nature" in which there is nothing good, but it was crucified with Christ and now the Spirit dwells forever in our new, sinless nature. So Paul says in Galatians 5, "Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh." Note he doesn't say we won't have "the lusts of the flesh"...but the promise is we can overcome them by the Spirit's power. Blessings, YBIC, Dennis

Is this a Holy Ghost sermon or what? I doubt there are any pews strong enough to hold the love and power of this message. Using Peter with all his weakness and strength is an excellent choice. People can relate to him and know that with there doubts and faults if they love Jesus, like Peter did, they will be saved.

Thank you for your kind comments....the scripture says (John 5:24) we are already saved and even now possess eternal life because of Christ. The Scripture also teaches us how to "walk in the Spirit" so we can overcome the ever present "lusts of the flesh". God bless you, Dennis

I appreciate your commendation but would challenge your conclusion...there are many who are on the path to destruction in both this life and the life to come who should indeed abandon what they believe and come to Christ who alone is worthy of their love and commitment. You are right Dennis, it really doesn't matter how many times one fails, it's only important that one presses on toward the "goal", speaking as someone who has failed many times, and once to the point of being so badly discouraged that I started questioning God like Asaph in Psalm 73, I thought God was "setting me up" But in the process God drew me back.
