Wally is pretty luck to have a tail to be caught by:)

I've had a hot air balloon ride - it is fun.

Great Wally poem!

By the way - congrats on having a poem in the poem of the month contest. Fantastic.

Thank you. I'm so glad you liked it.

I've never been on an air balloon, but would like to try it. Next chance I get, I'm on it. I'm game for anything. 8-)

Thank you for the congratulations. No chance of winning, but it's still exciting. 8-)

what should I have expected from a Damommy except a poem for dakiddies. And a fine one for reading to young ears having a nap attack, I believe.

Great, fun read. I wonder, does Wally need a travel companion. I could go with him as, long as it's not to far. When do we leave?

Hahaha!
This is pu-r-r-r-r-r-r-rrrrrr-f-e-c-t, Yvonne.
The excellent rhyming, the clever little backstory that comprises your poem, and an overall spirit of frolicking fun. The sorts of things children adore when reading stories and poetry--they are all included here. Adventure, humbleness, and humility--all could be taken away from this wonderful Wally the Weasel piece for kids.
My hat's off to you.
This was fabulous!

Witty story about having courage and living up to a dream. I wil go in a hot air balloon one day. I have always wanted to.

Keep writing and maybe Wally will inspire others to do new things.

Keep writing

Thank you for this lovely review. That is my hope - to inspire children to try new things and not be afraid of failing. I try to stress that we can't be good at everything, but it's important to never give up.

I've never been in an air balloon, either. The next chance I get, I'm gonna hop on it . 8-)

How much fun is that!
He's much braver that I am. I'd never look over the edge.
'Wally jumps up on the ledge
and leans too far across the edge.
His little arms begin to flail,
but someone grabs him by the tail.'

Great rhyming quatrains, befitting Wally's new adventure.

Thank you for a lovely review. I'm happy you enjoyed reading about Wally. He got a little wild this time, but I think he's learned his lesson. Hopefully, he shows others how NOT to behave. 8-)

Your story builds up to a very frightening scene of his being mischievous while in the gondola. Fortunately, he was saved from falling out of the basket into the abyss below. You showed to a young reader that being irresponsible is never acceptable by adding "His face is red..." and being branded as a " naughty little beast". That is mighty strong branding, but I do agree when those youngsters who acted on an impulse I do call them Little beast. I love the illustration you found to accompany this escapade, or did you draw that one. This is a nice story that includes life lesson not to act out on an impulse or act out of line while in a certain place. Best.

Thank you for this lovely in-depth review. That's what I like.

I hope it wasn't too strong for little ones. I did worry about that. But Wally's always been so nice up until now, I thought it was time to show what happens when he acts up. I think he'll be a good little beast after this. 8-)

Well let the young reader's mom/pop to decide. I think any other words would make this "beast" term a better word. But I think depends on the age you are meant to aim, maybe , "naughty little silly". About your thinking that he will be a good little beast, I don't know about that because for real, that recent hell raiser Olympic swimmer, Ryan Lochte, did what he did in Rio was a beast when he was in his very younger, tender years. I hope I didn't get out of line on this one. In any case, your story is fun to follow and I have seen "beast" term for the very young books. Regards.

I used beast in the context that he is an animal, a beastie. Beast doesn't necessarily mean vicious or fierce.

After our talk about this, I looked up the meaning of beast. This is what I came up with. "There are many types of beast in the world: dogs, cats, horses, monkeys, birds, and fish are all beasts. Even tiny critters like bugs are beasts. A beast is basically any living thing, except for plants."

Please don't think I'm arguing with you. I appreciate that you cared enough to point this out. Never hesitate to speak your mind with me. Thank you for your attention. 8-)

Hi damommy, It's just a review. No one should get hurt from the whole thing. I think I just need to understand the point of view of the writer since writing is a bit tricky on its meaning. And thank you for understanding me. Regards.

A nice illustration. Wally is seeing the world now, not just painting it. I like the last two lines about him being a pioneer for weasels everywhere.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Wally the weasel is getting an education in life and this poem is another gifted example of your flair for words and in describing this little guy who comes to life with your pen.

My favorite line:

"I love this pretty scenery
And all the lovely greenery
The clouds, they look so creamery.
I think we're going east."

Exceptional!
