This is such a wonderful read and I can understand why you won this contest. You've laid your soul bare and confessed that God will welcome your soul home. I love this last line 'Till the day my soul is called home'. Congratulations on the win.
Bless you
John

A very deep and religiously inspired appreciation for the soul. Your faith resonates deeply in this.l piece and creates a sense that you are entirely confident with yourself as you know you are spiritually supported. Well done

I can see why you won. I love how beautifully this was written. But beyond your wonderful choice of words, the message was astounding. You mirrored a lot of what I believe. Your presentation was great and the rhyme was perfect. Well done and congratulations. Gretchen

Congratulations on winning this contest.
You have conveyed your thoughts on the
soul beautifully.
We are constantly fighting to keep our
soul pure so we may spend eternity with God.
So worth the effort though.

The soul is the self, the "I" that inhabits the body and acts through it.the It is the spiritual part of a person that is believed to give life to the body and in many religions is believed to live forever. Yours must be beautiful as is your poem. Congratulations on winning the contest.
Wishing you the best,
Bill~

I like how you've constructed this; each verse further develops, building on the previous ones.
Till the day my soul is called home. - A lovely ending; sad, and yet somehow uplifting with an upbeat tone.
Your writing style provides a nice easy read. It's as though you were personally speaking this to me as we sit in the sun somewhere, each cradling a drink.
Thank you for an inspirational post :-)

What a wonderful wonderful write Susan I am so glad I found this one You are a beautiful writer of rhyming verse and you so deserve this contest win.
beautifully written in AABB rhyme scheme
one of my favourite verses
Encompassed faith with desire
teeters between constant fire
As purity is directed

The poem on the soul, My Soul, sounds like it could be rapped. The aligning of the soul with a heaven is clearly seen here and the purpose we have to preserve what is eternal. Nice poem.

Exceptionally poetic and profound. So very well done, Ms. Susan. A difficult topic and one where people can go right off the deep end into gobbledygook land. LOL
You stay on point with your theme and point and bring it home beautifully. A most worthy winner. Well done. mikey
