Great verses, but I think you said it best when you admitted that this mystery cannot be explained. Still, this was a great effort in doing so.

Congratulations on the win Susan. You described "soul" beautifully in the thoughtful piece. My favorite stanza was:
This mystery can't be explained
yet, a knowing to be sustained
undeniable living part
a loving master's work of
art.
Well done.
Blessings

A very well-written poem. First, congratulations in winning the contest. The soul belongs to God and our bodies are just a vehicle to transport the soul.

Contest winner, well, I certainly shall not argue with that, and fortunately for my conscience I see no need to, though the broken last lines are not essential to the eight-syllable beat...excellent.

Love thought expressed beautifully. I wish my sister could have passed in such a peaceful fashion. She died screaming and trying to hold onto life.

Congratulations on first place with this lovely interpretation of 'soul'. I agree, we will always roam, in our earthly forms....this is beautiful...blessings...

very good, nicely done and congrats on the win. it's said the body is the temple of the lord, the soul is a little piece of the lord in each of us, when we die it does back to the lord if we live according to his word in love and faith. we can destroy part of gods soul in the misdeeds man does murder, rape so on and so on. he gave it to us to help guide us, if we listened to it. have a great day

We are born to live
then one day die
We are not perfect
we will sin as we are human
Great art work and words written.

I have no six left

I can see why this won. You certainly have portrayed the soul superbly.
Loved the rhyme but I thought the message was certainly the poem's strong point.
I wish I could create something this good.
