Writing poetry truly does have a magical appeal and you have created a lovely piece of poetry.
We may soar amidst the masters
on the wings of imagery

Thank you for sharing. Robert Frost once said, "Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words." It would seem to me this continues to ring true. I would suggest finding an appropriate illustration to accompany your poem, if for no other reason than to attract and positively influence reviewers. This is advice I give especially for contests, but it applies to any post.

I like the elements projected in this write, finding selected ingredients properly arranged in strong line structuring, depositing an array of delights I found captivating to my interests. All in my opinion of this write.

Sweet! I love the inclusion of the quotes, jaybird1. :) Your poem has an almost sing-song-y quality to it that is most appealing.
Well written with excellent rhyming, and smooth flowing. This is a poem that every poet can relate to. Great job! Thanks for re-posting it.
Cheers,
Connie

Beautiful poem - I love the Road Less Travelled - it was the only book that got my head out of my proverbial butt when I was young. This is a stunning poem and I can see why it made an All-Time Best. It came up on the top board - and I had to read it - I am currently trying to gather the FS bucks to promote some of my work and it has been slow going. Every time I get a little collected it gets sucked right down. I feel like I am on the hamster wheel. I will look for your writing in the future as this was very sophisticated and unique to what I have found since joining.

Poetry does have a magical appeal, the poet while penning his thoughts then decides if it can be understood by others, should he change his thoughts? or be happy if only a few understand Him? an excellent poem thought and read, I like reads like this that challenge the mind****kahpot

Hello Jaybird1
What makes poetry poetry magical is when you wrote this poem of the wondrous advantages of what a poet can receive like when a poet as you said is so true ----
we may need a little shove
and some further inspiration
from the powers up above

Hello Jaybird,
This is a wonderful poem about the lure, mystery and beauty
of poetry, both for the writer and the reader.
I love your opening stanza.
Poetry is one of the few art forms that is available to everyone.
You don't need a slab of marble or an easel and paint,
just paper and pencil, and words.
I'm with you, I prefer poems that rhyme.
Wish I had a six left for your marvelous poem,
but I'm all out.
Beautiful words.
Robert

-I like your poem very much, jaybird1.
-These are my favorite lines:
"We may soar amidst the masters
on the wings of imagery."
-The imagery speaks of so much
that goes into poetry, especially
those masters who have gone before us.
-I also like the beginning of the second verse.
-The conclusion ties the whole poem
together very well.
-I really enjoyed this.
