If we could remain in the childhood days, and only have the childhood cares, what a wonderful life we could live. But, years past, and adulthood finds us and new fears we face. I loved your sweet free verse poem. It was very insightful to the past.

You use beautiful imagery to describe the summer season and the rich setting by the seashore. You have personified the season as a young girl and tie it nicely into the changing seasons of your granddaughter's life. The imagery is vivid and the anticipation of a child changing to a young lady gives a sense of promise and anticipation.
